Well, I try to save seeds from veggies we eat. Only have luck with tomatoes. I can get everything else to sprout and even got a mighty fine cantaloupe sprout once that I transferred to the garden -- some critter munched it away without so much as a thanks.
I accidentally grew some decorative gourds once from the compost. Kit took some of my compost once and potatoes sprouted. Don't know if he ate them.
